This website forms part of an ongoing artistic and research project initiated by the Agora Music Collective and pianist Martin Malmgren, one of its founding members. Agora has over the years arranged concerts, recording sessions and other events related to Pergament’s music, while Malmgren’s doctoral studies at the Sibelius Academy are centred on Pergament’s life and work. Among the results is an ongoing series of first recordings of Pergament’s music, which is projected to include at least five CD recordings, all published by the British record label Toccata Classics. The work behind this website has involved extensive research in archival collections as well as materials held in private ownership. We express our gratitude to all heirs of Moses Pergament, who have kindly given permission to re-publish and translate the texts that are now made available on this website, and for generously granting access to materials in private ownership.
